A DYNAMIC BEACH CLEAN
Clean Coasts Organiser Galway Atlantaquaria is delighted to collaborate with Celtic Dynamics for the first phase of the EU Beach Clean series, and Explore Your Shore! walks of Grattan Beach, Salthill.

This is the first BIG BEACH Clean and one of three planned EU big beach cleans happening on Grattan Beach, Salthill in September.
Celtic Dynamics is our first business to join the series, followed by a school, and then a public beach clean on World Clean Up Day.
The goal is to promote how our beaches can promote well being, biodiversity awareness, and how the #2MinuteBeachClean principle works in modelling best practices.
The outcome is for a litter free beach, to show how people can get together to model beach clean dynamics, to showcase how much biodiversity we can learn about.
- Best practise in litter management and mitigation through the Clean Coasts Model
- To show how much people do care about the environment, a civic good
- To learn about the biodiversity and relationship between them through the National Biodiversity Data Centre, Explore Your Shore! Citizen science campaign.

Garry Kendellen of Galway Atlantaquaria, said “I am looking forward to working with the team at Celtic Dynamics to showcase the biodiversity of Grattan Beach, and show how small but consistent beach cleans can help promote good practice and common good to stop marine litter from entering these fragile habitats.”
Celtic Dynamics
“We’re really pleased to be taking part in this initiative with Galway Atlantaquaria and Clean Coasts. As a team, we spend a lot of time thinking about how businesses can make better choices for the environment, so it’s lovely to have the opportunity to come together locally, learn more about the biodiversity on our coastline and do something practical to help look after it. We’re looking forward to spending the afternoon at Grattan Beach and leaving it a little better than we found it.”
