What If The Icecaps Melted..

ART DISPLAY IN THE AQUARIUM

For the second month of our Art Display we have 2 works from the pupils of Coláiste Éinde.

The junior cycle students have worked on a project imagining what happens if all the icecaps melt. They think that this would result in Salthill flooding. Therefore, the painting they made shows a submerged Blackrock diving board, surrounded by marine life. They used acrylic and poster paint for this display.

The other piece is a series of linos depicting marine diversity. They said they had previous knowledge of the process of creating linos and enjoyed making this collage by using this technique. They chose several marine animals for this project, and the result is a colourful collage of jellyfish, seahorses and other animals.

Both these pieces are up in our windows now for the duration of the month of June, so make sure to drop by when you are in Salthill.
