Do I need to pre-book tickets?

We recommend booking online in advance, it’s quick, easy, and cheaper than walk-in prices.

Vaping & Electric Scooters?

Vaping and the use of electric scooters are not permitted inside the building.

What is the admission rate for carers?

Visitors with additional needs receive one free carers ticket per paying guest. Carers may be asked to show ID or documentation support needs.

I’ve already booked tickets but now need to purchase an additional ticket – how do I do this?

Yes! You can purchase extra tickets at reception on arrival, no need to rebook.

Aquarium Photography?

Sometimes the Aquarium will take photos of the visitors enjoying the experience, we only take images from behind heads and add some edits to hide their identity. There are no GDPR risks as images are always posted weeks later.

Is Galway Atlantaquaria accessible for wheelchair users?

Yes, Galway Atlantaquaria is fully accessible for wheelchair users, carers and visitors with additional needs.

Please note wheelchair users may need assistance with some of our doors, as they are not power-assisted, and to access the lift.

Are Guide Dogs permitted access to Galway Atlantaquaria?

Yes, guide and assistance dogs are welcome throughout the aquarium. No other animals are permitted.

What are your opening times?

Galway Atlantaquaria is open throughout the year.

We open seven days a week from mid-February to November*:

SUMMER OPENING HOURS JULY & AUGUST

Seven Days a Week 9 am until 6 pm.

Other Opening Times
Monday to Friday 10 am – 5 pm (including Bank Holidays)
Saturday & Sunday 10 am – 6 pm

Last admission is 1 hour before closing.

How long can I stay? How long will the visit last?

You’re welcome to stay as long as you like. We recommend allowing at least 45 minutes to see all exhibits.
