Heart, Soul, and Stories of Galway & Salthill

Spending a month in Galway has been more than just an internship experience; it’s also been a chance to explore one of Ireland’s most charming cities. From the moment we arrived, Galway made a strong impression on us, and it quickly started to feel like a second home.

One of the first things we noticed was the unique vibe in the city.
Galway is lively but relaxed, full of color and character. The small streets in the city center are a joy to walk through. They’re filled with little shops, friendly faces, and always something interesting going on.
What stood out to us was the music. Buskers are everywhere talented street musicians playing everything from traditional Irish tunes to modern covers.
It adds so much life to the streets and creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere. You never know what you’ll hear when you turn a corner.
The pubs in Galway are something special too. It’s not just about drinking, they’re places where people come together, listen to live music, share stories, and enjoy the moment. Each pub has its feel, and many of them are full of history and tradition.
We loved just sitting in a cozy spot, taking in the sounds and the friendly energy around us.

A short walk or bus ride away is Salthill, and it’s the perfect place to relax.
The seaside is beautiful, especially on a clear day. We often went for walks along the promenade, with views of the sea on one side and the Galway Bay landscape on the other. There’s something calming about the sound of the waves and the fresh ocean air.
Another thing we’ve come to appreciate is the Irish mentality. People here are open, laid-back, and very welcoming.
They take the time to talk, smile, and help out if you need it. It makes it easy to feel at home, even when you’re far from it.
As for heritage, one of our favorite places has been the Spanish Arch and the nearby Galway City Museum. It gave us a glimpse into the city’s past from medieval trade to modern culture. It’s amazing how much history is packed into such a small area, and learning about it while walking the same streets is something we won’t forget.

Overall, Galway and Salthill have left a big impression on us.
The music, the sea, the people, and the overall vibe are things we’ll always remember. If we could sum it up, we’d say Galway is full of heart, soul, and stories and we feel lucky to have been part of it.
