JUNE 2026

NEW EMDInMyCountry SCHEDULE FOR JUNE

Join Galway Atlantaquaria as we explore the shore of Grattan Beach and discover a host of remarkable marine animals. Each species has a story to tell — teaching us about resilience, cooperation, and how our oceans serve as a warning to the growing challenges of climate change, litter and acidification.
Every creature we encounter plays a vital role in the marine ecosystem, from helping to clean the ocean and providing food for other species to sequestering carbon and producing oxygen that sustains life on Earth.
These European Maritime Day (EMD) experiences offers unique and authentic storytelling along the shore, inviting you to connect with the coast in a deeply personal way. We guarantee an experience that leaves you with a lasting feeling — because there is nothing quite like the exhilaration of exploring rockpools, discovering new life, and breathing in the fresh, salty air that truly nourishes the soul.
EVENTS open to all, some require booking direct and some are open.

Inspired by a recent BIAZA Campaign, we are organising a Family Friendly Beach Clean on Grattan Beach, Salthill on Friday the 8th of May from 4 pm. Let’s celebrate Sir David Attenborough’s Birthday and help clean our beach. Clean Coasts #2MinuteBeachClean
